George Washington (film)

George Washington is a 2000 American drama film about a group of children in a depressed small town in North Carolina. The children band together to cover up a tragic mistake. The film is written and directed by David Gordon Green. Although it was not widely seen due to a limited release, the film received universal praise by critics.

George Washington marked David Gordon Greens feature film debut as a screenwriter, film director and film producer. It was also the first feature film role for actor Eddie Rouse.The film has an 82 Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, based on 56 reviews. Roger Ebert of the Chicago SunTimes selected it as one of the ten best films of 2000, as did Time Magazine and New York Times critic Elvis Mitchell. ........
